Your website needs some kind of method to give visitors a way to contact you. In the old days this was as simple as providing your email publicly as text (youremail@yourdomain.com.au) This practice is no longer recommended, as it becomes vulnerable to SPAM bots on the internet.

We have already mentioned how that’s not such a nice situation on a previous post. A better way around it is via the use of contact forms. Follow these steps to Setup a Contact Form on WordPress.

Step 1

From your WordPress dashboard click on Plugins > Add New

In the plugins page type in “contact form” in the search bar

When you have chosen your desired Contact Form plugin (we highly recommend using Contact Form 7), click Install Now and wait for it to install. Once installed you will see a new tab on the left navigation menu called Contact.

Click on Contact Forms and edit the default form (probably named Contact Form 1).

Once here you will see a bunch of labels for each field on the contact form. You may remove or add new ones as required.

If you click on the Mail tab you will notice options to configure such things as which email the form will be sent from and who will receive the messages. Edit them as required.

These steps are enough to make a simple form functional. Now we can move on to displaying this on your page. Notice the code inside square brackets highlighted with a blue background, copy the whole line and click on the Pages menu.

Step 7

The final step is to create a new page called ContactOn this page you will paste the previously copied text and then click Save. That’s it! You can now view the newly made contact page on your website.
